MapQuest App Gets Roadside Help Option

Throw away the AAA card, ditch the 15-minute Geico phone call: MapQuest and Urgent.ly have launched a free roadside assistance service available via mobile apps. A deal between the navigation provider and the D.C.-based startup means U.S. drivers in need of a tow, tire change, fuel delivery, jump start, or lock-out service can turn to the new on-demand platform. "MapQuest is interested in providing innovative, reliable services to our users in a way most meaningful to them," Nate Abbott, head of MapQuest production, said in a statement.
