Urgent.ly’s Driving Transportation Innovation Scholarship

About the Scholarship

Urgent.ly is pleased to offer a scholarship in order to promote continued education and innovation within the transportation industry. A one-time grant in the amount of $500 will be awarded to a student exhibiting concentrated interest in the field of transportation in addition to superior academic or learning-based extracurricular performance.

The Urgent.ly Driving Transportation Innovation Scholarship is applicable for any accredited educational program including 2-and-4-year undergraduate programs, graduate studies, and trade or vocational schools. For consideration, students should prepare a Personal Statement of approximately 500 words describing their interest in transportation and how they plan to pursue this interest to drive growth or change in the industry. Students enrolled in or applying to all fields of study are eligible to apply, though preference may be given to those enrolled in related programs including but not limited to the studies of transportation, engineering, technology, logistics, business, and management.

To apply for Urgent.ly’s Driving Transportation Innovation Scholarship, please submit the following materials no later than Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11:59 PM.

  • Transcript (An unofficial copy is acceptable)

Recipient(s) will be notified no later than Monday, May 1, 2017. Proof of matriculation or enrollment will be required upon receipt of award.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

All students who will be enrolled in an an accredited U.S. institution of postsecondary education during 2017 are eligible.

What Criteria Will Be Considered?

A holistic view of each student’s application will be taken. Applications will be reviewed on the basis of academic performance, extracurricular engagement, and quality of prepared materials. Essays will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Content, particularly the student’s ability to demonstrate their interest in the transportation sector
  • Organization, style, and grammar
  • Effective use of approximately 500 words (no less than 400, no more than 600)
  • Creativity, originality, vision, passion, and/or dedication on the part of the applicant
